Prestigious Prize for WYLD member – Raising Youth awareness of Dementia

Share

WYLD member Kristine Newman has been awarded a Connections Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada to run a two-day symposium to raise awareness of dementia among teens from Canada and USA. The event will bring together panellists from around the world and will feature a day of panel discussions followed by a day of problem-solving, knowledge exchange and strategy building. The aim is to get teenagers talking about dementia and, hopefully, to consider careers in the field.

The event will be held in Toronto in October 2016. Visit the Ryerson website for more information.
